KindaThinky is an irreverent theme-based talk-show with a live audience based in a pub in Canberra. It has sold out all 7 shows in advance and has a growing online audience. Shows are live-streamed online in The Salon, the specially created online media bar, and podcasts are made from each episode.
The growing show media library stays in The Salon where KindaThinky subscribers can come to watch or listen to a show at any time.
Originally envisioned as a smart dinner series with drinks in response to a community grant application in 2013, the idea wove its way through time, platforms and funding opportunities until it became the KindaThinky live event and interactive online media bar that it is today.
Kali & Adrian of EASE International teamed up with Rod & Will of the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) to co-develop the show after its predecessor SCOMBOM made a successful transition from online-only to live conference entertainment in February 2014 (both catalyzing and justifying further development as a live show).
EASE provides strategic branding and concept development, website and live media production for KindaThinky.

In February 2014 EASElivestream provided video production and livestreaming for the Australian Science Communicators National Conference. All main auditorium sessions and special events were filmed by student volunteers and streamed online and made available after the event by EASElivestream.
With over 400 delegates and over 170 speakers, the event was a huge success. Remote delegates purchased livestreaming tickets for 4 days of the event. Livestream delegates were able to participate with the conference through social media channels in real-time, including a specially created LinkedIn group and livestream platform.
EASElivestream captured and streamed the event with 3 broadcast cameras operated by volunteers, a feed from the stage projector (for video and slides) and audio from the venue control desk.
Livestream delegates can now also watch the conference in their own time and continue to grow the conversation online.
In June 2013 EASElivestream provided video production and livestreaming for the BIG Science Communication Summit. Each of the 14 plenary sessions were filmed, streamed online and made available after the event. A 4 minute highlights video was also produced featuring interviews with delegates and speakers.
With over 200 delegates and 50 speakers, the event was a great success. Scores of viewers tuned in to the 3 day event through the online streaming media. Not only could they see and hear the summit proceedings live from anywhere in the world, they were also participants of the event, engaging through social media and live-blogging.
EASElivestream captured and streamed the event with 2 broadcast cameras, a feed from the stage projector (for video and slides) and audio from the venue control desk. These feeds were switched live to make sure that the online audience had a great picture. At times there were many lively debates between audience and panelists. Our cameras caught it all, focusing on the presenters and panelists as they bounced ideas around.
Livestream delegates can now also watch the conference in their own time and continue to grow the conversation online.
